The bar is straight back from the entrance and I did see at least one private dining room off to the left. I hear happy hour, at the bar, is the place to be! (I guess I'll find out in a few months.
...years). Bar Bites are $5 for items such as the Spicy Shrimp + Eggplant which is ususalky $13. A friend raves of it yet, we haven't tried it. We were seated immediately with a reservation via OpenTable, yet it took a while for our server to come over. In all honesty, service was slow yet she was quite busy - it appeared they were short staffed. We were never given utensils or napkins so once our app arrived, my husband reached behind him into the silverware bin behind his head - ha! I did appreciate the teamwork with random people stopping by to clear plates.
My husband got the Italian Mule which included limoncello. Generally he comments on how it tastes but never did for this one. So I'm not sure it was good, average, or poor. There is bread service and the bread must be sourdough because it has a sour flavor to it. There are also triangular sharped flatbreads with herbs and hints of cheese; perhaps asiago? We ordered the Sliced Steak Bruschetta described as "Gorgonzola, arugula, charred tomato, and Parmesan.
" I had asked the server if the gorgonzola was pasteurized (prego problems), she reported it was, yet there was absolutely no gorgonzola on our bruschetta. Our server never stopped back by and someone else cleared he plate, so oh well! It was still tasty. The steak tasted marinated (balsamic) yet it's not a one-bite sort of item. Mostly because you cannot bite the steak in half (a bit chewy). The bread it's spread on has a garlicky taste which I very much appreciated.
I feel there was more than just charred tomato on it, more ingredients than mentioned, and we quite liked it. It's an item to order again. My husband got a wedge salad yet barely ate any; most of it was that section of iceberg that's yellowed and hard and no one wants to eat. It was topped with tomatoes, bacon, crumbles, and creamy Parmesan dressing. I asked for a sample of the lobster bisque before ordering it, yet it was never brought out.
I've had quite the cravings for bisque as of late! I ordered the Shrimp Risotto & Broiled Lobster Tail. Truth be told, I hate lobster. The small makes me want to puke....pregnant or not. I wish you could opt out of the lobster and lower the price of the dish. So that tail went onto a plate and passed to my hubs. It had mushrooms, roasted red peppers, asparagus, basil, Parmesan. It was okay, just average - not the explosion of flavor I had hoped for.
And sometimes when I eat shrimp, it tastes like dirt. And a few of those shrimp tasted like that. I probably ate only half of the entree. My husband got the Chicken Milanese; "crispy Romano chicken, herb pasta, Mozzarella, pomodoro". I didn't try a bite as I was too full, but I did want to! We finished with the creme brûlée, described as mini, and it was! It was tasty enough. I'm sure we'll return at some point but because the nearest location is 45 minutes away it won't be a place we'll make a special trip for.
Total + Tip = $102 *one can expect to pay $20+ for an entree I finally tried Brio today and it was okay. I walked in by myself and I noticed that it's just a restaurant trying to be boujee but it just can't pull off the fancy aesthetic. I ordered a Sangría Rosa while I waited on my friends to arrive. I love sangria but this one wasn't anything special. It seemed like the drink was watered down and there was hardly any fruit in it.
My friends arrived so we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which was pretty good but nothing that amazed me. I then ordered an Spicy Shrimp and Eggplant small plate and it hit the spot. I thought that the shrimp was seasoned just right and the fried eggplant was pretty good. My friend ordered a wedge salad which he let me try and it was nothing special whatsoever. He also got the Lobster Bisque but hardly touched it because he said it tasted too rich.
Overall, Brio is okay. I recommend trying other places for better tasting and better priced food. I came here for dinner with a group of girlfriends to celebrate my 26th Birthday. We called ahead of time to reserve a table since we had a big party. We were greeted quickly as we came in and were able to sit down right away. The restaurant is upscale and dimmed so I love the atmosphere here. We ordered some mixed drinks which were not strong at all.
My dinner wasn't that memorable either and I had to remind the waiter to bring out my Birthday dessert, because they forgot.. so I was very disappointed!! My overall dining experience was just ok. Would I come back?...probably "not" because it was pricey and I didn't enjoy the food or drinks either. My bill was $48 including tips, which was insane for just 1 person. This is my second and last time eating here.
1st time I ordered chicken piccatta, they forgot to season it. This last time I ordered fish and it was disgusting. I could've gotten a better meal at Captain D's. I took a bite of fish and immediately spit it out. I told the server it was disgusting, he acted like it wasn't news and didn't bother offering to try to remedy the situation. If you're looking for Italian in town center, do yourself a favor and go to Maggianos.
Two surprising words: Happy. Hour. Monday-Friday until 6:30pm, there is a magical place where burgers are $6, martinis are $5, and fancy appetizers that you normally skip become affordable. It's called the bar area, and I'm a fan. On the other side of a window parcel, people are paying $11 for beef carpaccio OR black pepper shrimp, and yet here I am in the shade on a couch eating BOTH. Don't get me wrong.
Everything I've eaten here is worth paying full price, or maybe its tastes twice as good because I didn't have to. :) OK! this is one of my favorite places for girls night, date night or takeout night. I really enjoy that the food is filling but not heavy on the stomach. Everything I have tried here is tasty. My favorite is the salmon with asparagus and sweet potatoes. I've also tried the chicken with sun dried tomatoes.
They have gray happy hour options too! Highly recommend! We were initially slated for Coopers Hawk but the 2 hour wait on a Tuesday night pushed us to Brio. Surprisingly this place was less than 50% full. Chains usually max out at 4 stars with me so consider this 4 star on a 5 star scale. Brio is an Italian themed restaurant with very high ceilings and better than average decor. It's actually simple but impressive at the same time.
I looked over the drink menu and nothing really shouted out at me so I opted for a White Peach Palmer off the non alcoholic menu. Monin White Peach syrup, housemade lemonade and iced tea then ordered a shot of vodka. It worked well. We ordered artichoke dip for the table which was beautifully presented as shown in my pictures. I had a caeser salad and added anchovies because I like the extra brininess.
For my entree, the grouper fresh catch extra blackened with mash potatoes. The fish was a good portion and cooked well. I'm not a big fan of mashed potatoes with fish but rice didn't appear to be an option. One of the other meals at our table was shrimp Mediterranean which was served orzo so wondering if that was an option. Anyway, I wouldn't put this place at the top of my list but I wouldn't have a problem coming back.
This is a beautiful restaurant however our experience last night was very poor. Our first drinks took about 25 minutes to come out. Our split salad appetizer never made it out until we reminded our waitress TWICE. Food took forever. I guess they were not prepared for a full house on Friday. This definitely not one of the better Italian restaurants as far as food is concerned and with the way they ran the staff and the floor I was very unimpressed .
I will not be back. Go to Poppy's!!!! It was such a delightful experience eating here today. With a group of 18, it's usually not a great experience at restaurants however, they accommodated us with no problem. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was wonderful. The food was delicious! We will definitely come back. I'm not big on chain restaurants but I have to say every visit to Brio has left me satisified and pleased.
Their menu has alot of delicious items from appetizers to main entrees to desserts; there's nothing I've had that I didn't like. It is also a great spot to meet friends just for happy hour and appetizers. The establishment is inviting and the service is great. Ok, I'll admit it's been a coon's age since I've visited Brio. When they first opened, we were here religiously for happy hour and never quite got what we were looking for so we took our talents elsewhere.
Fast-forward to today! ... I'd been told twice this week to give Brio another shot, and after the second invite, I graced the threshold. Well I'll be! Same laid back (and almost laissez-faire) ambiance, same set-up, same great prices, but the menu has changed for the better! The Margherita flatbread that I ordered is the same as before, but the (newer) shrimp and eggplant app is to die for! (And that sauce, OMG!) I ordered a Moscow Mule and had to send it back (just don't), but the Sangria Rosè was a win! The short rib nachos were also recommended, so the girls and I will be back to give it a whirl! All and all, we were inspired by the menu changes and will gladly put Brio back in Town Center rotation for the time being! One of my favorite places to go to for some delicious creamy ravioli.
This is one dish I will never get tired of. Service is great! I love the environment as well Underwhelming and really just another fast food chain. $14 for spaghetti with meat sauce ... really ? $6.75 for the last piece of tiramisu... the small piece. Too expense for what just ok food. I talked to the server about the price .. he's said.. sorry that's the button for the spaghetti. Too many other good places to eat dinner at the town center.
Will not be going back. Pasta Brio $17.95 -- I separated the chicken from the pasta noodles immediately after the dish was placed in front of me. As you can see (check corresponding picture), maybe 3oz maximum of chicken and maybe 30 noodles. For $18, the owner and management of this business should be ashamed. Not even a half of a half of chicken breast. This isn't a pasta dinner, this was a kids menu item - it had to be.
Not going back **Note that the manager below did NOT private message me I've been to Brio at Town Center and other locations across the country. The food is good and a great atmosphere. However, the service regularly disappoints me. I was there one time where we had an absolutely fantastic waitress but usually the service is mediocre. This last time was no exception. I was attending a work dinner.
We had one of the private rooms. Why in the world would a restaurant expect 1 waiter to serve 15 - 20 people in a room and be able to be attentive to the needs of the group. Since I was driving and this being a work event, I was only drinking water. Why does it take 20 minutes to get my water glass filled. I don't really blame the waiter too much. He's trying hard to get food on the table and clear other courses.
Why don't they assign plate runners and have someone busing the tables? Besides the service, the food was very good. Lot's of good flavors although the green beans were a bit undercooked. I generally like my veggies to be a bit crisp but these were beyond my expectations. Overall, a good time. But I do have higher expectations from a place such as Brio. Sampled Brio Jax new seasonal menu. We enjoyed the Balsamic glazed pork chop with caramelized vegetable hash and the Steak Saltibocca with garlicky fingerling potatoes and brocolini.
Then followed by a chicken and mozzarella ravioli topped with toasted pine nuts, asparagus and sweet potato champgain cream sauce. And we finished the meal with a snickerdoodle peach cobbler. We came for our four year anniversary dinner after being recommended by a friend. We came in on a Tuesday night and we're seated immediately. Our waitress took our drink orders and said she would be coming back shortly with bread.
We decided on calamari as our appetizer. The calamari itself was pretty decent but, the amount of sauce they give to dip is less than two spoonfuls. The waitress said she could have given more, but it really should be more to begin with. We ordered and once again asked for bread (it still never came) and she told us it was in the oven still. We finish up our appetizer and the couple behind us immediately receives their bread shortly after being seated.
Our entrees of a 6 oz filet mignon with tomato fettuccine as a side and carbonara were average. The steak was tender and juicey but both pastas were not worth the price on the menu. During our meal, I watched our waitress show a dessert platter to one of the tables near us. They decided to order the creme brûlée. 5 minutes later, she comes back and lets them know that they are out of that dessert.
Throughout the meal, we were never asked if we wanted water (we were having cocktails) and still never got bread. Our time for dessert came and we ordered the trio of desserts, which included the creme brûlée. Keep in mind, she just told the table behind us that they were out. She clearly didn't remember and took the order anyways. She came back 5 minutes later only to tell us the same thing. The wait staff was not attentive.
Especially when the server only had 2-3 tables at the time we ate. Probably won't come back. We were seated immediately and the server was nice. We ordered bruschetta for appetizers which were pretty good. I ordered the crab cake, which was full of filler. Wasn't that tasty either very standard crab cake. My husband ordered steak which was tender but not much flavor to it. We enjoyed their desert.
When I got home i started feeling really sick. I ended up throwing up my food. The only thing i can say was the crab cake might not have been prepared appropriately since my husband and I ate the same thing except our main course. Don't plan on coming back any time soon. Happy hour. I didn't enjoy the experience so I'm giving it two stars, but I might try it again to see if I can do better. Their food specials were $4-6 and their cocktails $5-6.
I wanted a daiquiri and, as usual, the bartender didn't know what one was (they think frozen or strawberry when you say daiquiri). I started off asking if they had simple syrup (my last happy hour didn't) so I could just tell him the ingredients to make it if they did. They did, so I got my daiquiri. At least this bartender was game to make it, and when I got my bill I found out he gave it to me for free since he does that any time he doesn't know a customer request.
It tasted fine too. I ordered black pepper shrimp with romano-crusted eggplant off the happy hour menu. It's a sophisticated and reasonably large dish for $6, but it was slightly spicier than I like (I have a very mild tolerance for spice). It took a long time to come, unfortunately. My neighbor recommended the Brio Burger, $6, which I'd probably try if I come back again. Short rib nachos ($6) sounded good too.
It was pretty crowded (I like to get to happy hours before 5 but didn't this time) so I ended up at the end of the bar, where I wasn't happy sitting. It wasn't too loud for conversation, but still louder than the quiet, uncrowded places I prefer. When I got home I noticed the linen napkin got lint on my shirt. I thought the restaurant was fairly attractive. They have open air seating too. The bar is at the back of the restaurant, not the front.
I didn't enjoy myself so I have to give this a below-average rating, but I could see it getting four stars for another experience so I may well try it again.
